Tony Bird
Born in Paris in 1991, Tony Bird (also known as Antoine Beux) spent a great part of his time listening to a wide variety of music as a little kid, then quickly started the violin at the age of five.
Studying in diverse music schools and conservatories in Paris, Tony entered at Gennevilliers National School of Music in 2010 (Paris) and was awarded a Classical Violin Prize. Meanwhile, he started studying jazz at the International Music Educators of Paris (IMEP).
In 2013, he entered Berklee College of Music as Full Time Scholarship recipient and created his group 2BIRDS BAND. In 2016, 2BIRDS BAND went for a tour in Canada for shows and clinics, then in 2017 in France. Recently graduated from Berklee as a performer and composer, Tony recorded and arranged string parts for American Idol 2018 nominee BRANDON DIAZ, opened for jazz legend RANDY WESTON at the Martinique Jazz Festival for MAHER BEAUROY QUINTET, performed for internationally renowned artists such as Wong Lee Hom and Jacob Collier and is part of the CIRQUE DU SOLEIL instrumentalist database. He also teaches jazz and classical violin and performs with 2BIRDS BAND in New York, Boston, Canada and France.
He got hired as solo violinist for 10-time Tony Award musical THE BAND'S VISIT US Tour 2019/2020 and for Miami-based Parisian folk songs/gypsy jazz band THE FRENCH HORN COLLECTIVE.
He recently performed for the music project INSULA (Algerian-Caribbean musical tribute to Franz Fanon) and dance company DIFE KAKO (world carnivals), supported by Institut Français. He is also the composer and musical director of the new 2BIRDS BAND album « Flip The Bird » featuring vocalist Laure Le Prunenec (RÏCÏNN, former IGORRR vocalist); which some of its music is to be released by the end of 2023.
