Roger Kashou was born in Westland, Michigan and began learning the darbuka through the influence of his father, Raja Kashou. Having taught himself, Roger continued expanding his musical knowledge; which has led to him to perform with many local singers and musicians across the country.

 

Roger’s performing experiences have led him to develop an appreciation for the high art tradition of Arab music; which brought Roger to join the National Arab Orchestra. Roger has been with the NAO since 2010.
